About Us

Wharncliffe are equipped to provide programme &  planning services for tenders & live projects, from concept design, into pre-construction, design, procurement and delivery of the on site construction programme.

OUR APPROACH

Construction can be a complex business and at Wharncliffe we understand this.

Therefore, our approach is to understand the complexities of each project and then keep it simple in order to offer practical, optimum solutions that can be easily understood and adapted when things change.

  • Understand complexities
  • Evaluate programme risks
  • Work out the optimum
  • Mitigate the risk
  • Offer practical solutions
  • Adapt when change occurs
  • Keep it simple

We don't like to dress things up with complicated schedules or management jargon. We like to look at the practicalilties of what we are building and how it is to be built. We then explore different construction methods and techniques to create a robust delivery programme. One that considers the many facets involved in constructing a building including:

  • sequence
  • logistics
  • labour and plant resources
  • design co-ordination and information release
  • procurement, specialist CDP and off site fabrication and
  • third party influences (e.g. Party Wall Act, oversailing, utility service providers, local authority requirements etc.)

We appreciate that not everyone we work with is a programme specialist or is conversant with planning terminology. Not everyone is familiar with complex analysis of programmes or construction sequencing.

That's why we aim to do the thinking for your project teams and help them by carrying out the planning in a no nonsense and colloborative manner and communicating the key programme drivers to them.

THE PROCESS

STEP 1

Review tender / project documentation, employer's requirements, design and site constraints, key Client drivers and constraints & third party influences

STEP 3

Review quantities and  output rates against quantities and determine resource requirements and produce draft build and pre-construction programme

STEP 2

Understand and review logistics, phasing, sequence and construction methodology, pre-construction elements & third party drivers

STEP 4

Programme review, highlighting key risks & potential mitigation including alternatives methods to produce optimum programme
